A new board of the MBA programme at the University of Iceland (UI) and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) took office on 1 July.
The board is appointed:
- Ásta Dís Óladóttir, Senior Lecturer at UI, Chairman of the board
- Hersir Sigurgeirsson, Senior Lecturer at UI, the vice-chairman
Other members of the board are:
- Sigurjóna Sverrisdóttir, project manager at Meet in Reykjavík, who graduated from the MBA program in 2011
- Haukur C. Benediktsson, Lecturer at UI and managing director of financial stability at the Central Bank of Iceland
- Sigrún Gunnarsdóttir, professor at the School of Business at UI
The IBA at the University of Iceland is an educational and research institute operated on behalf of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Iceland.
The institute holds MBA programs, but the MBA program at the University of Iceland is an internationally accredited program (accreditation) from the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
AMBA is an independent organization that aims to enhance the quality of education in the field of management and operations. This is one of the most prestigious awards available for MBA studies, and more than 300 schools in the world have received such recognition.
The MBA program is taught in collaboration with the Yale School of Management in the United States and the IESE Business School of Navarra in Barcelona, both of which are at the forefront of MBA studies in the world.
